Some of the biggest things that Scouts have to look forward to as part of Troop 161 are high adventure activities. Much of what Scouting does prepares youth to be able to participate safely in these trips. Scouting America manages 4 high adventure bases. Troop 161 has typically sent participants every other year for treks at one of these locations. In 2026, the Troop is planning our own trip to the Boundary Waters rather than using the Northern Tier facilities in the same location.
The Troop supports these activities through our fund-raising efforts to reduce the individual costs for our Scouting families.
